Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and approved electrician to join our MEP team on a regulated site. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and components to ensure their safe and efficient operation. This role demands adherence to strict safety standards and regulations due to the unique environment of a nuclear facility.
What you'll be doing
- Electrical Installation: Perform electrical installations including wiring, conduit bending, and cable pulling as per project specifications and industry standards.
- Maintenance and Repair: Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on electrical systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Compliance: Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations specific to nuclear facilities.
- Testing and Inspection: Conduct regular testing and inspection of electrical systems to identify and rectify faults, ensuring reliability and safety.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of electrical work, including installation, maintenance, and repair activities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other MEP trades (mechanical and plumbing) to coordinate activities and ensure seamless integration of systems.
- Safety Protocols: Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and participating in safety drills and training
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to electrical emergencies, diagnosing and rectifying issues to minimize downtime and ensure safety.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Training and Mentoring: Provide guidance and training to junior electricians and apprentices as needed.
Who we're looking for
- ECS Card and CCNSG
- Approved electrician – 2 years post apprenticeship experience or hold Approved grade card.
- Hold time served status with an official apprenticeship.
- Ability to obtain BPSS clearance
