We’re seeking Area Tenancy Managers to join Brent’s Housing Management Service and help us deliver our fantastic transformation agenda!
An excellent offer….
Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic and social make up. Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here.
The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us.
The Post
As an Area Tenancy Manager (Housing Officer), you’ll manage end-to-end tenancies for a patch of social tenants or licensees. You will provide varied support to Brent residents to help them live safely and comfortably in their homes, acting as the face of the landlord for your patch.
You'll have the opportunity to develop detailed knowledge across various areas of tenancy management, including voids, lettings, income and arrears, anti-social behaviour (ASB), and providing support based on an individual person’s needs. This role is an excellent career opportunity to develop varied skills, experience and knowledge across the social housing sector.
With a consistent and smaller patch of properties, you’ll improve the quality and perception of the Housing Management Service. You’ll work with services across the Council to ensure vulnerable tenants have access to services they need, and Brent’s estates and homes are good quality, safe, and secure.
You will also uphold the guidelines set out by the Social Housing Regulation Act 2023, demonstrating a commitment to improving standards and ensuring the safety and quality of our social housing in compliance with this critical legislation.
The Person
We’re looking for resilient individuals who thrive in dynamic environments and are not afraid of hard work. You will have excellent customer service skills, empathy for people and a clear focus on tenant satisfaction and getting results.
We promote values and expect our people to be motivated by improving the wellbeing of their tenants, and making positive contributions to their team and the service.
Knowledge of local authority statutory and support services related to housing, awareness of relevant housing legislation and welfare benefits, and excellent organisational and IT skills are essential.
You’ll excel in this role if you are committed to making a difference, can work independently, and are eager to learn and develop your career.
Our Offer to You
In addition to your salary, you will also get to enjoy the following benefits:
• 27 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays, increasing to 31 days plus 8 bank holidays after 5 years continuous service
• Very generous employer pension contribution
• Flexible working hours and the opportunity to work from home 2 days per week (laptop provided)
• A wide range of family friendly policies such as parental leave
• Access to affordable parking nearby
• Access to our Zipcar scheme
• Access to our Employee Assistance programme for free confidential counselling
• Season ticket loan for public transport
• Cycle to work scheme and good onsite facilities
• Access to My Brent Rewards for big brand discounts, local offers and money off for travel, cinema and shopping vouchers.
Closing date: Sunday 6 July 2025 (23:59)
