Become an Asset Management Analyst within the Asset Information team and you will play a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy and completeness of the data we hold about the physical assets that make up our entire water network. It’s crucial that we have accurate information about all of the physical components that make up our network - like pipes, pumps, and motors for example.
Your data analysis expertise will be essential for maintaining a robust information library that details parts, servicing needs, and conditions, thereby enabling efficient repair, upgrade, maintenance, and condition assessment. You will proactively ensure data integrity across our business systems by identifying and resolving gaps, collaborating on improvement plans.
Strong attention to detail and proficiency in SAP Business Objects and database languages (SQL, VBA) are vital. You are a highly organised, persistent, and self-motivated individual who understands the importance of thorough task completion.
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintain and analyse core data elements, core data objects, and associated business processes within our asset information systems to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
- Collaborate closely with other asset management teams to assess data completeness and accuracy, actively supporting and contributing to the delivery of data improvement projects.
- Work in partnership with key teams including-, Information Services, Developer Services, Operations, and Engineering- to define clear data and information requirements for system and tool enhancements.
- Develop standard reports and insightful data visualisations to support improved decision-making for senior management, our regulator (Ofwat), and other relevant regulatory bodies.
- Proficiently manipulate and interrogate complex datasets from multiple sources using tools and languages such as SQL, VBA, SAP Business Objects, Looker, Access, Sheets, Maximo, and Excel.
- Contribute to the refinement of asset information processes and proactively suggest improvements to our ways of working, including the development of comprehensive asset information standard documentation and codes of practice.
- Assist with the timely and accurate completion of data updates at project closure, including the meticulous maintenance of the asset digital document library.
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of new planned maintenance tasks within our Asset Management system.
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to continuous learning through relevant research and training to enhance your knowledge of asset management systems, tools, and processes.
You'll need (Essential):
- Significant experience as a Data Analyst with a demonstrable track record of success in data retrieval, manipulation, and analysis.
- Ideally degree qualified or holding a relevant qualification in a data-related field.
- Strong working knowledge of database languages and tools, including SAP Business Objects, SQL, and VBA.
- Exceptional organisational skills and a meticulous approach to detail, ensuring accuracy in all tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and influence colleagues at all levels within the organisation.
- A high degree of self-motivation and the ability to work effectively independently, taking ownership of your responsibilities.
It will be a bonus if you have:
- Previous experience working within an Asset Management, Operations (Water Industry), or an engineering environment would be useful.
- Institute of Asset Management Certification
- Have currently or previously worked with Maximo

Compensation package:
£30,500 - £35,500
