In our commercial function our job is clear “To help our teams manage the risks and realise the opportunities in bidding, winning and delivering great projects.”. This is underpinned by the following:-
- Providing leadership in Commercial matters; directly with clients, making business easy and WSP easy to do business with.
- Developing Commercial best practice, process and resources (careers) in support of WSP’s strategy.
- Demonstrating the value from the Commercial Role
- Focussing and action on strategic themes of governance, risk and opportunity with all stakeholders.
- Providing dispute resolution support to the business.
A Little More About Your Role…
As a member of the Discipline Commercial Team, you will work with the Legal, Insurance, Bid Modelling, Operations, and project teams to provide advice and support on: -
- Sustainable work winning
- Reviewing, managing and negotiating contracts
- Assisting in the commercial management of our projects
- Resolution of issues and finalisation of contracts
This role will report to the Commercial Business Partner for the relevant business unit.
A Little More About Your Team…
- You will be part of a small team within the applicable business unit, but also be part of the wider Discipline commercial team.
- Our aim is to improve the commercial practices of our people and in turn our business.
- Opportunity to work on an array of nationally significant projects throughout the UK and Ireland. Our clients include all national and regional transport bodies as well as leading Contractors.
- You will have the opportunity to grow your career at WSP in the UK, but also our expanding market leading global businesses.
- We have offices at most major transport hubs offering excellent collaboration space.
What We Are Looking For You To Demonstrate…
- Good Commercial awareness.
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience of contract administration over contract lifecycle.
- A working knowledge standard forms of contract particularly NEC.
- A relevant Degree and/or Membership or working towards a Degree and/or Membership of a relevant professional body is preferable
- Preferably experience within a similar role.
