Essentia, part of Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, is seeking to recruit an Assistant Director, Capital Projects to play a key role within its Estate Development function.

Essentia Group is part of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. Responsible for non- clinical healthcare services, Essentia designs, builds and maintains healthcare infrastructure vital to the smooth running of healthcare services. This encompasses everything from construction projects and healthcare planning to waste management, housekeeping, transport and security. Essentia employs around 1,900 people, who provide essential support to clinical teams working across the acute hospital of Guy’s and St Thomas’, Royal Brompton and Harefield as well as the South East London Community and other partner Trusts. Reporting to the Director of Capital Projects, the Assistant Director Capital Projects leads a team of Senior Project Managers in the delivery of a variety of key major capital projects across the GSTT estate portfolio. The role offers the chance to lead a portfolio of major capital projects with a cumulative value in excess of £750m and that will have a transformative impact on the NHS estate and healthcare provision in London for future generations.
We’re looking for a dynamic leader with a strong background in capital project management, stakeholder engagement, and team leadership. The role involves high-level planning, coordination, and oversight of complex developments across our estate. You will have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, given the need to proactively develop positive relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders. Experience of delivering projects in live, operational, critical environments would be particularly advantageous.
