As Assistant Editor, Audience, you'll oversee and commission a team of SEO reporters and work closely with the social and product teams to deliver objectives, reporting into the Cross Platform Audience Growth Editor.
What You'll Do
Be a highly motivated, creative and data-obsessed journalist who can help develop a strategy to enable us to grow our audiences both on- and off-platform.
- Work with the digital leadership and product team to plan, communicate and execute a strategy to grow search and social traffic to our digital platforms
- Commission SEO reporters based on current and potential future search and social trends
- Work closely with curation editors - providing advice on a daily basis and helping to develop and communicate best practice
- Oversee experimentation including A/B testing and digital growth hacks that can help us meet our KPIs
- Work with the Cross-Platform Audience Growth Editor and others in the newsroom to curate newsletters showcasing the best of Sky News journalism
- Monitor and analyse our KPIs across platforms
- Use data to teach teams how to grow our audience and deepen the experience of users with our journalism
- Stay abreast of industry trends and SEO best practice
- Help make Sky News a data-informed Newsroom for the benefit of all our output
What you'll bring:

- A deep understanding of platforms and trends in digital media, SEO and the way audiences consume news online

- Proven ability to use data to inform decision-making in an editorial context
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, impeccable attention to detail and the ability to prioritise your workload.
