As an Assistant Group Financial Controller, Joining our Global F&A department you will be part of a small and well organised team who oversee the financial planning, reporting, and compliance on an international scale across our whole business.


Reporting directly to our Group Financial Controller, you will have the opportunity to introduce new ideas, share insights, and develop innovative procedures. Your contributions will play a crucial part in enhancing the team's effectiveness, driving forward-thinking initiatives, and continuous improvement and collaboration.


This is a full time permanent role with candidates working out of our Sheffield office 1-2 days per week.


The Role

The role of the Assistant Group Financial Controller is to support and deputise for the Global Financial Controller to manage the month end cycle, ensure all tax matters for the group are dealt with and deliver all statutory reports and returns as necessary, whilst ensuring the business operates within the legal, statutory and regulatory requirement of the markets in which it operates.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee CRT reporting across the team to ensure the timely completion of the month-end reporting cycle.
  • Compile the group’s consolidated profit and loss statement, balance sheet, and cash flow monthly, ensuring accurate reflection of all eliminations.
  • Coordinate the preparation of statutory accounts for the Group, as well as for various subsidiary companies, in compliance with applicable accounting standards and legislation of their respective jurisdictions.
  • Production of statutory financials for the Group’s Annual and Interim report.
  • Main lead and responsibility for working with external tax advisers to ensure the team delivers all tax returns and payments accurately and on time.
  • Support the GFC to ensure Transfer Pricing strategy is optimal for the Group.
  • Deputise for the Group Financial controller on payment authorisations and other matters when required.
  • Stay updated on UK statutory requirements, International Financial Reporting Standards, and tax matters, and share relevant insights with the finance team as needed.
  • Liaise with external auditors and Group Corporate Tax & Reporting Accountant to ensure statutory audits are planned, managed and concluded effectively and efficiently.


The Qualifications & Skills You’ll Have:

  • ACA/ACCA Qualification.
  • Post Qualified experience within a large organisation.
  • Experience with managing general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process.
  • Experience with creating annual report and investor presentations.
  • Good communicator, tenacious, with ability to motivate and manage individuals effectively, across all functions.
  • High levels of technical accounting knowledge and procedures applicable to an AIM listed company with particular reference to IFRS 15.


It would be great if you had:

  • Working knowledge of D365 and Power BI.
  • Experience within the software sector.
