This is a great opportunity to join a fast-growing business in the Design team as an Assistant Packaging Designer.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, ambitious, and commercial packaging artworker, who is passionate about sustainability and packaging to join a small fast paced design team.
At Mountain Warehouse we are on a journey to consolidate our packaging and make this area more environmentally sustainable. The position contributes to Mountain Warehouse’s success by supporting the Packaging Designer to deliver commercial, sustainable, and on-brand packaging solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Reporting into the Packaging Designer and supporting the packaging team on a daily basis.
- Supporting the packaging designer to ensure production files are accurate and branding across different categories is consistent.
- Working across multiple in-house brands each season.
- Maintaining and accurately updating brand guidelines and supplier packs.
- Maintaining and updating existing packaging solutions, ensuring accuracy and brand consistency.
- Supporting the designer in card model making and mock ups.
- Complete seasonal market research and product safaris generating commercial and accurate reports.
- Working cross functionally with buying and CRS teams to ensure commercials are accurate.
- Working across multiple projects within each season.
We Would Like To Meet Someone Who Is
- Proficiency in adobe software (illustrator, Photoshop)
- Proficiency in card model making and mock ups
- With a degree in Product, Graphic or packaging design.
- Relevant industry experience is beneficial but not essential.
- Some technical knowledge of packaging-based print and production materials and processes.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and work to multiple deadlines, in a high-pressure environment.
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills that support the rest of the team.
- A determination to achieve and succeed.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working as part of a team.
- The ability to see projects through from inception to production.
