Description
The Neurodiversity Team is a multidisciplinary team which is designed to provide a needs-led, family-centered approach for children under the age of six with neurodivergent learning needs. The team includes (but is not limited to) parents, speech and language therapists (SLT), occupational therapists (OT), paediatricians, clinical psychologists, administrators, the voluntary sector, and educators. The role involves demonstrating a neuro-affirmative attitude to differences such as autism and ADHD. As part of the role you will be required to be a keyworker for a large number of families, and as such, will take the role of primarily liaison for the family in both positive and challenging times. The candidate will be expected to provide emotional and social support to parents and carers with additional needs and their families.

The post holder will possess expertise in assessing and supporting children, young people, and families (CYPF) with neurodivergent learning needs. This will include assessment, providing second opinions, offering specialist advice, and developing and delivering training for families and external services, such as healthcare providers and community partners.

Part of the main duties will be to take on the responsibility of keyworker for a larger number of children and their families, in order to act as the primary source of contact for families in times of worry or anxiety. To present clinical information and opinions clearly and concisely to other professionals.

To support developing and carrying out the need led pathway, giving your advice an expertise from the field of OT. Good understanding of neuroaffirming language and its importance.
