Working within the Emplas Sales Department there is an opportunity for a Bid Manager/Writer to join the team and manage / complete successful bids on behalf of Emplas to increase the company’s presence within the public sector, while taking ownership of the end-to-end bid process.
You'll be responsible for working with the Commercial Sales Manager to identify opportunities to supply window and door products, and with the estimating team to complete bids on time and see them through to handover to operations. This role initially will also require you to write and compose the responses to ITTs & PQQs with a realistic potential to grow and manage a team of bid writers in the future
Position:
- Identifying opportunities for the business to supply its window and door products into the public sector
- Gather evidence to complete PQQs and write responses to longer form questions where required
- Working with the Commercial Sales Manager to create / adapt strategies to further the company’s growth in the public sector
- Prioritising workloads to the estimating team to ensure pricing aspects of bids are ready in time
- Building a library of responses to previous opportunities that can be used to create future bids more efficiently
- Collaborating with other departments to gain information to complete bids
- Responding to clients' and stakeholders' questions and queries before, during and after the bid
- Work with operations team to ensure smooth handover of secured bids
- Gaining feedback on all bids to ensure they are constantly improved
Requirements:
- Proven ability in securing high-value product or service opportunities
- Experienced in bid management from identification of opportunity to project delivery
- Good commercial understanding
- Excellent communication skills
- Thorough and strong attention to detail
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Competent in the use of a computer and tender portals
Desirable but not essential:
- Experience in the manufacturing or home improvement industries
Other information:
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5pm.
