Job Description
Brent Knoll School is looking for an inspirational and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our inclusive school community, from September 2025.
This role will involve supporting the holistic development of individuals and groups of students in the school.
The salary is at Scale 4 Spine Points 8 - 10 currently £31,434 - £32,346 p.a.
Please note that this is the all year round salary which will be pro rated for term time only 39 weeks per year and 33 hours per week Monday to Friday.
Brent Knoll is an all age (4 - 17 years) special school with a one-year sixth form provision for children and young people with social and communication difficulties including autism. Many of our pupils also have significant learning, and social and emotional difficulties. The school moved to a purpose-built building in September 2015 with fantastic facilities which have brought exciting opportunities for enriching the curriculum and children’s learning. By working collaboratively with experienced and like-minded colleagues this could be the post for you.
You will be supported by working with a dedicated staff team to develop and adapt pedagogical approaches to meet the diverse needs of our learners, enabling them to achieve the best possible outcomes. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills when working in partnership with families, colleagues and children.

We have a highly supportive and experienced leadership and safeguarding team as well as Lead Practitioners on the staff team to provide expert advice and training for colleagues.
No previous special school experience is necessary as we provide a comprehensive induction package and excellent continuing professional development, training and support. You do need a strong interest in inclusive practice to support learners with SEND and a commitment to professional learning, reflection and growth.
