Business Analyst
Location: Hybrid
Package – Negotiable
A Business Analyst at Brown & Brown Europe requires quick and efficient understanding of the business context through engagement with key stakeholders within the business and their IT support providers. Includes leading the discovery process from the M&A phase through to full migration onto existing platforms. This role requires a proactive approach to ensure smooth transitions and effective integration of new acquisitions.
The Day To Day
- Interact with Business before documenting current business applications, network, and infrastructure to establish an accurate picture of the As Is state
- Enable an agile, seamless migration by adopting new security controls, discovery, and migration to current platforms.
- Collaborate with Agile teams to place backlogs and Sprints on ADO Boards.
- Understand all contractual obligations with existing suppliers
- Integrate feedback into the SecOps team.
- Engage with teammates across Tech Solutions to map the new acquisition to the Integration Model.
- Draft DD reports reflecting IT costs and document the To Be state and key integration actions
- Review and enhance the discovery process to ensure successful outcomes for new acquisitions.
- Liaise with SMEs across the IT team to identify integration activity and ensure this is understood and costed appropriately
- Collaboration with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements and their priority
- Work with Developers and business users to gather all required business knowledge to complete design and build.
- Project Estimate – within the required degree of confidence, provides estimate for business systems analysis tasks of various sizes
- Facilitation of process workshops to identify business change, especially around applications
- Write user Stories creating and running storyboards
- Ability to participate in daily stand-ups with technical teams (both on/off shore)
- Raise risk and issues
- Work closely with Teammates to organize ideas into actionable product backlogs
- Represent the voice of the Customer and communicate Customer value found in user stories to the Agile team in a manner that sparks innovative thought.
- Ensure that relevant functional authorities and architects are involved to ratify design decisions
- Help to identify and resolve dependencies and obstacles that will keep the team from achieving their goals.
About You
- 3-5yrs plus Business Analyst experience
- Recent experience of working within a team who use Agile principles / ADO boards
- Experience with working on migration and infrastructure programmes with line of business applications, EUC, Networks, M365, SharePoint
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
- Hands on testing experience
- Understanding and knowledge of business analysis methodologies and test metrics reporting
- Deep understanding and working knowledge of testing principles
- Ability to self-motivate whilst working remotely
- Data Discovery Experience (people, process and technology)
- Infrastructure / Network and / or EUC background – understanding broking and underwriting businesses also important. Need to be able to communicate effectively with the business stakeholders, rather than just technical teammates
- ADO Board experience
- Experience of Supporting Complex Change and/or multi-disciplinary projects and a track record of delivery
- Solid experience of deploying change management best practices and disciplines (e.g. SCRUM, Agile)
Preferred
- Recent experience of working within a team who use Team Topologies
- Experiencing of delivering Training to Business Teammates – eg How to use SharePoint, ServiceNow, Basic use of Outlook, Excel, Word
- SQL understanding
- Acturis software knowledge
