This role is to support the growth and efficiency of SEFE Energy by providing objective and effective business analysis of systems and processes.IN SHORT


Based within the Manchester office, the key objective of this role is to support the growth and efficiency of the SEFE Energy business by providing objective and effective business analysis of systems and processes, in accordance with business needs.

The Business Analysis team sits as a unit within Sales IT. As BA you will have responsibility for the analysis activities related to change and will work in partnership with business stakeholders, delivery teams and colleagues to assess, shape IT change.


Please note, this is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract


WHAT YOU WILL DO


  • Elicit and document business and functional requirements from stakeholders to create clear, actionable requirement documents and user stories for software development teams, ensuring alignment with business needs.
  • Design and optimise business processes and systems by applying business analysis techniques to deliver improvements that support organisational objectives and compliance with industry practices.
  • Deliver end-to-end analysis across the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), from requirements gathering through to solution implementation, ensuring consistency and quality throughout the process.
  • Produce and validate functional specifications and modelling artefacts (including UML Use Cases, process flows, Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs), and data models) to support accurate system design and development.
  • Engage with internal business units, IT teams, and third-party vendors to ensure collaborative delivery of shared project goals, resolving issues and ensuring alignment across all parties.
  • Apply Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban to manage iterative development, prioritise work effectively, and adapt quickly to changing requirements or constraints.
  • Analyse and interpret energy industry business processes, particularly within Gas and Power retail operations, to ensure solutions are grounded in industry knowledge and reflect operational and commercial realities.


WHAT YOU WILL BRING


Lean or BA accreditation (BCS Business Analysis / IIBA etc

Agile Scum certification (Product Owner, Scrum Master, Agile BA)


  • Ability to translate business issues into IT and business change solutions, ensuring technology is applied appropriately to solve organisational challenges.
  • Proficiency in facilitating workshops to gather, validate, and refine business requirements, ensuring stakeholder alignment and effective solution design.
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems such as Microsoft Dynamics or Salesforce, enabling effective implementation or enhancement of customer-facing systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure, effectively negotiating deadlines and outcomes in high-stakes or time-sensitive environments.
  • Capacity to challenge and influence stakeholders constructively, contributing to better business decisions and continuous improvement
  • Collaborative working style that drives team success through shared goals, demonstrating commitment to collective achievement rather than individual effort.
  • Initiative and self-direction in managing multiple priorities in a changing environment, ensuring progress without the need for close supervision.
