Business Analyst - Execution Technology

Position Summary

We are seeking a multifaceted professional to assume a hybrid role integrating business analysis, project management, product management, and quality assurance. The ideal candidate will bring 3-5 years of experience within the hedge fund or capital markets sector. Essential skills include deep knowledge of tech concepts, the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and hands-on experience in testing, requirements documentation, and a robust understanding of trading, market data, and Python.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis

· Work directly with traders and portfolio managers to capture and document detailed business and functional requirements tailored to trading systems and investment strategies.

· Analyze trading workflows and processes, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements and technology enhancements.

· Translate complex business needs into precise technical specifications for development teams to action.

Project Management

· Lead cross-functional project teams, ensuring alignment with strategic trading and investment goals.

· Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocations in a dynamic trading environment.

· Provide regular updates on project status, risks, and deliverables to stakeholders, ensuring clear communication channels with both developers and portfolio managers.

Product Management

· Define and prioritize product features, ensuring alignment with trading and investment strategies.

· Partner with developers to implement product plans that cater to the specific needs of traders and portfolio managers.

· Cultivate feedback loops with users to continuously refine and optimize product offerings.

Quality Assurance

· Design and implement meticulous testing strategies that ensure high-quality trading systems.

· Conduct thorough manual and automated testing, focusing on performance and functionality critical to trading operations.

· Document and track issues and defects, coordinating with development teams to expedite resolutions that affect trading efficacy.

Required Qualifications

· Minimum 3-5 years of experience within hedge funds or capital markets (either directly or as a consultant).

· Comprehensive understanding of trading systems and market data infrastructure.

· Strong grasp of SDLC processes and best practices, particularly within a trading context.

· Demonstrated expertise in gathering, writing, and managing detailed technical and business requirements.
