Base location: Havant / Reading
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 + Benefits
Working Pattern: Permanent Full time with the option of hybrid working
What is the Role?
Reporting to the Business Assurance Lead, you will support the development and strengthening of the Business Assurance framework in a consistent and pragmatic fashion, and in line with recognised best practice standards and relevant regulations affecting the Business.
Key aspects of the role include Quality, Audit and Compliance, more specifically:
- Support the maintenance and continual improvement of Business Management Systems and other Certifications, including but not limited to; ISO 9001, ISO 27001, ISO 14001, 45001 & 45003
- Support the migration to combined and/or integrated management systems
- Collate and present evidence to support external audits and verifications and ensure participant engagement
- Maintenance of Business Management System inputs such as documents in the document library, non-conformities, and audit results
- Support and continually improve the quality of inputs and reporting to the Business Assurance & Governance Committee and other committees and working groups
- Develop and maintain the Document Library and provide guidance to the Business
- Coordinate and participate in the Document Library ‘Superuser’ group
- Work alongside functions, including the Legal, Regulation, Data Protection, Operations and Security teams and assist in achieving, maintaining, and reporting Compliance, as required
- Coordinate Compliance activities across functions including planned events and ad hoc requests
- Conduct and participate in internal reviews and other types of audits
- Support Business Risk Management and reporting (Principal Business Risks)
- Support Business Continuity Management and Disaster Recovery processes
- Quality input to bids and support as required
- Identify and coordinate continual improvement initiatives and support innovation
- Participate in gap analysis activities to determine compliance status to standards and regulations, inclusive of TSA (Telecoms Security Act) as required
- Assist in the creation of e-learning material
- Ensure that the Business Assurance function is well known by the Business and news is up to date and relevant on The Exchange (our intranet)
- Participate in Business initiatives such as We Thrive surveys and improvement actions.
What do I need?
- Understanding of relevant ISO standards & understanding of Industry Standards
- Experience of implementing, maintaining, and developing Business Management Systems
- Hold or are working towards obtaining a recognised auditor qualification
- Experience in conducting a range of audit types
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate across all levels (both written and orally), and positive influence on internal stakeholders to achieve continual improvement
- Self-motivated, able to use your own initiative and possess excellent documentation and reporting skills
- Ability to support a wide range of stakeholders from different functions to ensure that adequate processes and control measures are in place to mitigate operational and business risk
- Hold a driving licence
- Availability to travel GB-wide, as per role requirements
- Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office 365 suite, SharePoint, and their capabilities
- Document control and development and record retention experience
