We are seeking a highly motivated and adaptable individual to join our team as a Business Continuity Officer on a fixed-term contract for two years.
As the Business Continuity Officer, you will be responsible for providing business continuity support to several local authorities as part of the Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland Resilience Partnership. Helping to ensure that critical services can continue in the event of any disruption, whether it be natural hazards, technical failures or any other unforeseen circumstances.
While prior experience in business continuity is desirable, we welcome applicants who may not have direct experience in this area but possess relevant transferable skills, such as project management, risk assessment, or emergency response.
About the Role
As the Business Continuity Officer, you will be responsible for providing business continuity support to several local authorities, ensuring that critical services can continue in the event of any disruption, whether it be natural disasters, technical failures, or any other unforeseen circumstances.
Key responsibilities:
• Work with multiple local authorities to develop, implement and maintain business continuity plans and strategies
• Assess risks and develop strategies to mitigate them
• Ensure that all staff are trained and prepared to respond to any emergency
• Monitor and review business continuity plans regularly to ensure they remain up to date and effective
• Coordinate the testing and exercising of business continuity plans across all local authorities
• Provide advice and support to managers and staff on business continuity matters
About You
To apply for this post, you must have:
• Relevant experience in project management, risk assessment, emergency response or a related field
• Ability to quickly learn and apply business continuity planning principles and techniques
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels
• A proactive and self-motivated approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
