About The Role
We’re recruiting for a Business Development, Higher Education remote-first role as part of our enterprise sales team.This team at Blackbaud works alongside some of the most well-known organisations in the social impact space; tasked with forging relationships with the most prominent charities, educational institutions, foundations, and other fundraising and grant making non-profits across Europe.
Supported by colleagues in our Solutions Consulting and Professional Services teams, you will be helping social good organisations to drive efficiencies and performance by adoption and utilisation of Blackbaud’s SaaS solutions and services; empowering them to streamline operations, increase fundraising, distribute grant funding, and further mission delivery. As well as working directly with these organisations, the role may also involve collaborating with and influencing the existing CRM and digital marketing technology partners of these social good organisations; including Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics integrators.
Sales at Blackbaud is consultative, solution-focused, and team-based. We have a range of expertise within our team and many of our colleagues and leaders come from a background of working in social good organisations. We welcome applications not only from individuals within SaaS and Corporate Partnerships, but also those looking to progress their careers in the private sector.
What You'll Be Doing
- Build and maintain excellent relationships with senior decision makers at key non-profit organisations across the UK & EMEA to explore their fundraising and technology challenges, pains, and opportunities.
- Articulate effective solutions to address these challenges, pains, and opportunities and which deliver positive outcomes for the customer.
- Partner with internal teams such as Services, Customer Success and Products to create a holistic go-live strategy for the customer.
- Support key partnerships at Blackbaud, including with our Corporate Impact and JustGiving Account Management teams to offer bespoke joint solutions for social good organisations
- Represent, present, and evangelise for Blackbaud at events and with sector groups and associations that influence decision making.
- Manage and report on opportunities and engagements within your assigned territory
- Bring your expertise and ideas to bear to help drive innovation at Blackbaud with both our solutions and our go to market strategies.
What We Need From You
- Experience of complex, solution-based sales, ideally selling to an audience of different decision makers – at least 5 years.
- Or; Transferable nonprofit or fundraising experience – an individual who can demonstrate that they have orchestrated complex projects with a consultative ‘sales’ approach including identifying and diagnosing organisational and role-based individual pains (challenges) and causes for pains.
- Proven success in creating effective engagement and sales strategies as well as managing a territory or portfolio with dozens of current and prospective customer organisations.
- Strong focus on acquiring new business while continuing to cultivate existing account relationships
- Must possess superior communication skills, able to make clear, compelling and value-focused sales presentations; able to positively influence senior decision makers.
- Experience working with charities is a plus. A demonstrable passion for the not for profit and social good sector is essential.
- Ability to work from home / remote in professional surroundings conducive to conducting calls and video-based meetings.
We are a remote-first company who maintain a busy London office for our UK employees. Ability to travel as required to meet customers and prospects, and to attend events and meetings -
including but not limited to monthly team meetings in our London office as a minimum. May also require occasional European or International travel.
