Position: Business Development Manager- East London
Location: Field-based. The ideal candidate will live in or around East London, Dartford or Romford
Job Type: Full time, permanent
Days: Monday to Friday (40 hours)
Salary: £28-32,000 per annum + company vehicle

Role Purpose:
The role holder will be responsible for the management, development, and retention of existing National and Independent customers within their geographical area, whilst actively looking at new business acquisition in line with company targets.
The role holder will also manage their existing account base, actively seek new business opportunities, develop and maintain a pipeline, and secure contracts in line with company targets. This role will work closely as part of a team to provide an efficient national level of support by developing the existing customer base within their own designated territory with first class customer service and customer training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Effective time management to diary plan existing customer visits to agreed visit frequency
- Maintain an up-to-date journey plan in Outlook
- Maintain sales pipeline for new businesss
- Achieve year-on-year profit growth within geographical base
- Organic development of all accounts
- Increase product penetration through targeted range extension
- Maintain company CRM system
- Compile customer proposals using company sales presentations
- Accurate completion of contract paperwork in compliance with company standards
- Deliver on-site coffee excellence training sessions and visiting all sites as per contractual commitments
- Internal reporting and communication to the Company
- Network with Area managers and Key Decision makers at regional and site level
Experience:
Essential
- Experience gained in a coffee service or food service industry or similar
- Experience of working in a highly demanding, structured and fast paced environment
Desirable:
- Demonstrable experience in a field sales role that is focused on achieving targets and delivering excellent customer service
- Experience of coffee and some training skills are desirable although they are not essential as full coffee training will be provided
- High standards of administration, time management and personal presentation
Essential:
Skills / Knowledge:
Must hold full valid UK drivers license
- Competent in all Microsoft Office packages specifically Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint
- Able to train customers on product & equipment in the areas of daily use, beverage production and cleaning and maintenance
- Excellent presentation and negotiation skills, that focuses on the needs of the prospect customer
- Effective communicator at all levels
- Ability to interact with other team members in a professional and structured manner
Desirable:
- Knowledge of current market trends within the Foodservice Industry
- Network of relevant contacts
- A good working knowledge of competitors and their products
