Department – Portfolio Management Unit

Salary – National (Edinburgh and Leeds) ranging from £43,300 to £65,000 and London £46,400 to £69,500 pro rata (Salary offered will be based on skills and experience)

Operational Performance & Insights (OP&I) is responsible for developing and implementing our organisational performance reporting, measurement and evaluation, focused on executive and Board-level reporting. This reporting is critical for measuring progress in delivering the organisation’s strategy, monitoring outcomes in markets, as well as driving organisational efficiency and effectiveness.

OP&I works closely with Directorates and MI owners to bring together the knowledge of operational and performance data from across the organisation.

What will you be doing?

  • Lead the documentation and review of existing performance and compliance reporting across the Division, identifying inefficiencies and recommending improvements with a focus on clarity, consistency, and adaptability
  • Develop a structured plan to enhance reporting practices, coordinating efforts across departments through targeted analysis, stakeholder engagement, and timely delivery of agreed outputs
  • Collaborate with senior leaders, risk and compliance experts, and reporting analysts to assess control effectiveness and embed robust performance and risk reporting
  • Support the rollout of the FCA’s new Risk Management System by advising on improvements to how controls are captured, evaluated, and reported within F&CS
  • Work with Heads of Department to define meaningful KPIs and establish performance dashboards that reflect strategic goals, operational delivery, and data availability
  • Take a proactive approach to facilitating cross-team collaboration –organising meetings, presenting ideas, and driving collective problem-solving to enhance overall Division performance reporting

Minimum

  • Experience of working in a similar role within a complex, data-driven environment – ideally within a regulatory, financial services, or public sector organisation – where performance and compliance reporting, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional coordination were central responsibilities
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders to define and challenge business requirements, particularly in performance reporting
  • Strong data analytical skills, including experience combining data from various sources and transforming it for reporting and analysis.

Essential

  • Proven ability to collaborate within diverse teams, leveraging multidisciplinary skills and taking initiative when needed
  • Strong analytical, facilitation, and advocacy skills, with a demonstrated ability to simplify complex issues and drive change
  • Experience translating business requirements into clear specifications for performance reports and dashboards
  • Collaboration with design teams to create insightful and impactful performance dashboards
  • Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines without compromising quality
  • Proactive in seeking improvements, constantly looking for more effective ways to work and providing feedback to management
