Our Southwark Safeguarding Children Partnership (SSCP) and Southwark Safeguarding Adults Board (SSAB) are looking for a passionate and dedicated Business Support Officer to join our amazing team and help make a difference today!

About The Role

Southwark has a strong record of partnership working in the delivery of safeguarding services. We are looking for an experienced administrator with knowledge of children and adult safeguarding issues coupled with proven administrative skills.

The post provides business support in order to ensure the effectiveness of inter-agency working in relation to services for safeguarding children and adults and in particular to ensure that the Southwark Safeguarding Adults Board (SSAB) is an effective body for promoting excellence in multi-agency services to protect adults.

The post provides support in arranging meetings, minute taking, coordination of activities, progressing action plans, and acting as first point of contact to the SSCP and SSAB and their Subgroups and works within the joint business unit that supports the SSCP and SSAB.

This is a part-time role of 18 hours per week on a 12 month fixed term contract.

About You

You are a proactive and adaptable administrator with strong organisational skills and experience in minute-taking, meeting coordination, diary management, and acting as the first point of contact. Ideally, you have worked in health, social care, or policing and are confident working with senior managers across a range of agencies.

You’re skilled in using IT systems (like MOSAIC and Microsoft Office) to manage data, maintain accurate records, and produce reports. With excellent communication and networking abilities, you respond professionally to enquiries while ensuring confidentiality and data protection compliance. You take ownership of key office functions, contribute to a smooth-running environment, and are committed to promoting health, safety, and equality in the workplace.

About The Team

The Southwark Safeguarding Children Partnership (SSCP) business unit is part of the Quality Assurance department within Children’s Services. The team works closely with the Southwark Safeguarding Adults Board (SSAB) to lead and coordinate multi-agency efforts to safeguard children and adults across the borough.

We are a collaborative and dedicated team, committed to strengthening partnerships, improving safeguarding practices, and ensuring that agencies work effectively together to keep Southwark’s most vulnerable residents safe.
