Job Description
The Buyer is responsible for reviewing the production schedule for all products and collaborating with the engineering, supply chain, and operations teams to ensure parts are available at the right time for the production schedule. Using the Material Requisition Planning (MRP) in JDE and scheduling techniques, this role plans the production schedule, leads material availability, and collaborates with customer care to feedback material availability. The role entails liaising with all suppliers, key suppliers, internal suppliers and service providers daily.
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Establish robust planning strategies, handle customer expectations and internal expectations for lead times and delivery metrics
- Handle various product Bill of Material requirements, current stock holding and consequential stock purchase requirements for the products
- Learn all product lines and potential planning strategies
- Use JDE planning strategies including MRP to drive improvement to the planning function
- Develop deep functional and product knowledge of the current product lines to support with material shortages
- Ensure gases are handled and ordered in line with production demands
- Close liaison with warehouse for Goods In to maintain timely bookings in of material
- Raise and expedite supplier issues
- Ensure that requested delivery dates and suppliers’ deliveries meet materials requirement planning.
- Work closely with Third party suppliers to ensure strategic supply is sustained

For This Role, You Will Need:
- Previous experience of Material Requirements Planning, Scheduling and Inventory Control in a manufacturing environment
- Good communication skills – both written and verbal.
- Proven track record to collaborate with peers, teams, suppliers and customers at all levels
- Computer literate (Inc. MS Word, Excel)
- Has or is willing to acquire CIPS / CIPM certification as part of the role.
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
- Experience of working in a matrix organization.
- Previous experience using an ERP system, inventory management and planning
