Lotus Cars builds world-class, high-performance and lightweight sports cars that are sold all around the world. 

Lotus Cars Limited is the manufacturing site of Lotus in the UK. Here we produce all sportscars types such as the Emira and the Evija. To bring the company to the level we want it to be, we are looking for a Buyer  in the Indirect Purchasing Department to join us in our manufacturing plant based in Hethel.

Summary

Lotus is looking for talented, creative and motivated candidate to join us on our journey. This role requires a commercially astute individual to join the Indirect Procurement team as a Buyer.

This involves working collaboratively with stakeholders to support projects and BAU procurement activity, delivering security in supply with robust contracts and negotiating the best value, without compromising on other aspects i.e. quality / specification etc.

What You'll Do

  • Meet key deadlines.
  • Build effective relationships across the organisation.
  • Process and place purchase orders on behalf of Lotus.
  • Source and procure various goods, software and services.
  • Ensure all activities undertaken are in-line with current policies and procedures.
  • Capture data and maintain accurate records, to support reporting and audits.
  • Assist with the day-to-day running of the Purchasing Department and all associated activities.
  • Support the internal Customers to ensure service satisfaction.
  • Liaise directly with internal Customers on commercial aspects relevant to their requirements.
  • Undertake cost-down activities, as directed by your Procurement Manager.
  • Assess existing suppliers, with the aim to reduce the supplier base, costs and complexity.
  • Assess prospective suppliers and establish better standards of quality, service provision and operational flexibility.

What You'll Bring:

  • An effective team player, who actively develops and supports other team members.

  • Constructively challenge what doesn’t meet the needs of our customers.
  • Flexibility to work independently and travel, when the business requires this.
  • Previous experience within indirect procurement, with IT procurement experience.
  • Contract negotiation experience and an understanding of contractual clauses.

Desirable

  • Understand the strategic role of the Procurement function.
  • Higher education: Degree, CIPS or working towards.
  • Experience of working within the manufacturing or automotive sector.

Additional Information

  • This role will be working from our Hethel plant, within our flexible working policy.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in UK without VISA sponsorship.
