Our Role
Part of your role as a developing CAD Technician, you will initially interpret basic customer plans and proposals and to overlay onto ENWL records to allow the impact on network assets to be assessed. You will receive basic hand annotated design drawings from electrical design engineers and with assistance produce high quality CAD drawn design and construction drawings as required, produce other general CAD drawn outputs. You will then move onto more complex drawings as skills develop in line with an agreed development plan.
The successful candidate must, at the start of employment have permission to work in the UK without sponsorship.
What We’re Looking For
- A basic appreciation of common Computer Aided Design (AutoCAD)
- A basic understanding of the electricity distribution network from (LV services to 132kV)
- A basic working understanding of the ENWL Asset Data Records and symbology associated with the Electricity Distribution network.
- At least two years work experience in the electricity distribution industry.
- To be customer focussed and have the ability to interpret and act on customer requirements.
- Ability to use company IT systems and MS Office applications is essential.
- The role will require good written and spoken communication skills
- To be results focused and able to deliver results under their own initiative.
- Be able to plan your own workload and to quickly react on a day to day basis to varying demands and delivery time scales.
- With support, have the ability to make informed timely decisions on issues that influence day-to-day business in order that projects can proceed without unnecessary delays. Critical decisions (e.g. with significant technical, financial or customer impact) will be escalated for resolution.
