Fixed term / secondment 12 months to cover maternity leave
This is a very exciting opportunity to become a pivotal member of the wellbeing service at MKUH cancer centre. The post holder will be the responsible for the Neurology cancer CNS support as well as supporting the wellbeing servcie wihtin the cancer centre. The post holder will have an expert knowledge and clinical skills within cancer management and will of worked with patietns and families providing holisitc support understanding the importance is both medical and psycological care.
The post holder will have operational responsibility for the Neurology cancer CNS workload and supporting the wider wellbeing team on group and individual activities surrounding patient and family care.. They will have excellent communication skills, strong leadership, management and interpersonal skills with the ability to drive change to ensure that the cancer service in the Trust is both safe and effective.
The post holder will be a highly visible presence across the specialty, they will work to ensure the highest standards of care, setting and maintaining standards of clinical excellence and continuously improving experiences for patients, families and carers.

- Provision of cancer related information to patients, careers and health care staff within and outside the trust
- Provision of support and up to level 3 counselling to patients, careers and health care staff within and outside the trust.
- Position the Macmillan Information and Support Centre as an information and support resource for the MK community and advertise the services available widely
- Ensure there is a 24-hour answer phone service in the Centre and that messages are dealt with promptly and appropriately
- Is a link between cancer services and CAB, holistic therapy and psychology.

This developing service is supported by a forward thinking & supportive Management Team, Nurse Practitioners, Palliative Care Team & Macmillan Information and Support Centre.
