About The Role
In This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our Capital Delivery Team as a Capital Delivery Project Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting project teams across the council in delivering a diverse and interesting range of capital funded projects, including housing, schools, leisure, waste, transport and parks.
You will have the opportunity to develop your skills in critically assessing both large and small projects across the Council and experiencing how the Council’s Leadership make decisions to enable positive change in the borough.
About The Team You’ll Be Working In
The Capital Delivery Team is a small but key part in the Council’s Capital Programme. You will report to the Head of Capital Delivery and although you will have no one reporting directly to you, you will work closely with another Capital Delivery Project Manager and a Capital Support Officer.
Sitting within the Climate and Strategic Programmes division, the team is outwardly facing, meaning that you will get a chance to work closely with colleagues from many departments, not only learning about new services but giving you the opportunity to identify good practice and finding ways to replicate it in other teams.
Residents are at the heart of our work at Hounslow. Through our ambitious programmes of change, transformation, and capital investment we are connecting and delivering support, opportunities and improvements across the borough that will make a difference for our residents.
About You

- You have experience managing projects or programmes in a complex environment, such as a public sector organisation.
- You have a passion for supporting others to improve the ways they work and are able to adapt your approach as necessary to ensure you are making an effective impact.
- You are an effective communicator and able use influencing and coaching skills to support a wide range of stakeholders across the organisation.
- Your ability to engage with complex concepts and issues allow you to contribute at meetings with senior leaders, as well as being able to frame information appropriately for external stakeholders, including residents.
- Your written skills enable you to both deliver reports yourself and support others to improve their reports, including on topics that you may not be familiar with.
- You have a range of IT skills and are able to format presentations and spreadsheets for a range of audiences, ensuring key information is selected and clearly laid out.
