As part of the RSK Group, Nature Positive’s Carbon and Climate team is a long-established greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting and reporting provider with extensive experience of GHG assessments, verification and assurance to various standards. The team offers high-quality holistic carbon management plans in support of net-zero and science-based targets; and offer other sustainability services related to climate risk, EIA, BREEAM and built environment sustainability.
We're seeking a motivated Consultant to join our dynamic team. You will play a key role in delivering a range of sustainability services, empowering organisations to make a positive impact.
Main Responsibilities
Responsibilities are varied but are likely to include most of the following:
- Conducting greenhouse gas (GHG) assessments, verifications, and reports, to help organisations understand their climate impact
- Helping develop decarbonisation plans to help guide organisations towards lower GHG emissions
- Carbon reduction target-setting.
- Working on construction and infrastructure projects, ensuring sustainability throughout the lifecycle.
- Collaborating with stakeholders through workshops and consultations to promote climate action.
- Assessing climate risks and contributing to environmental impact assessments.
- Contributing to winning project proposals and tenders.
- Playing a role in shaping GHG modelling by contributing to tool generation.
- Involvement in BREEAM and sustainability of the built environment consultancy.
Required
Key Skills & Experience:
- At least 18 months’ experience of relevant or related work (consultancy and/or in-house)
- Knowledge of GHG Protocol and other GHG standards
- First or 2:1 BA/BSc qualification in a relevant discipline, or demonstration of equivalent practical experience
- Strong quantitative and Excel skills (this will be assessed as part of the recruitment process)
- Demonstrable research skills
- Demonstrable experience at self-management and working under your own initiative, including managing and prioritising several projects or workstreams
Beneficial - A postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline
- Membership of a relevant professional institution (e.g. IEMA)
- Any business development or commercial experience, including marketing and design
- Work experience or placement in a relevant or associated consultancy firm.
- Involvement in or experience of:
- science-based target setting (SBTs)
- BREEAM
- climate risk assessment and/or TCFD
- LCAs
- Whole-life carbon (WLC) assessment for the built environment
- GIS
- Processing large datasets through non-MS Office solutions (R Studio, Alteryx etc.)

- Microsoft Office proficiency: You're an expert in using Excel for data analysis, and a highly competent user of Word and Outlook. Competence in other MS Office tools is also beneficial.
- Sustainability: You possess a strong understanding of sustainability principles and carbon accounting methodologies.

Location: We operate on a flexible working basis. Successful candidates will combine home working with office working from one of
Bath,
Manchester, or
London; you will typically spend at least two days per week in one of these offices.
Hours: This role is full-time (40 hours per week), although we are happy to receive applications from part-time candidates who can offer at least 24 hours per week.
