Carbon Lead – Drive a Greener Future with the @One Alliance
Location: Flexible across the Anglian Water region
Who are we?
We’re the @one Alliance – a ground-breaking collaboration between Anglian Water and seven industry-leading partners: Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, MMB, MWH Treatment, Skanska and SWECO. Together, we deliver over half of Anglian Water’s capital investment programme.
As we prepare for AMP8, our most ambitious period yet, we’ll be delivering an even broader range of innovative and environmentally-driven infrastructure projects – from urban drainage to nature-based solutions like constructed wetlands.
Why join us?
This is your chance to play a key role in reducing carbon emissions across the water industry and help us shape the future of sustainable infrastructure. At the @One Alliance, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword—it’s at the heart of everything we do.
We’re now looking for a passionate Carbon Lead to support our project teams in achieving their carbon reduction goals, and to be a key player in our strategy to reach Net Zero carbon emissions.
What you’ll be doing:
🟢 Provide expert support to project teams, ensuring carbon and sustainability targets are met and exceeded throughout the project lifecycle
🟢 Drive carbon performance by identifying opportunities for carbon reduction and ensuring the implementation of sustainable best practices
🟢 Advocate for carbon reduction through the @One Carbon Champions group and help develop and share best practices
🟢 Support the creation of case studies showcasing @One Alliance’s successful carbon reduction initiatives
🟢 Provide training on carbon and sustainability to the @One teams, ensuring consistent knowledge sharing
🟢 Work with Anglian Water and supply chain partners to deliver innovation in carbon reduction, reporting and performance tracking
🟢 Use sustainability data to drive decision-making and identify areas for improvement in your programme area
🟢 Attend site visits and engage with construction teams to raise awareness of sustainability efforts
What you’ll bring:
✅ A strong passion for sustainability and a proven ability to deliver carbon reduction initiatives
✅ Expertise in carbon and sustainability data analysis with the ability to communicate complex findings to various stakeholders
✅ Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate sustainability into infrastructure projects
✅ Knowledge of carbon modelling tools (e.g., Anglian Water Carbon & Water Modeller) or the willingness to become an expert in these systems
✅ Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to inspire others to take action toward sustainability goals
✅ An understanding of the wider challenges around carbon emissions in infrastructure and the drive to push boundaries in delivering solutions
