Careers Advisor

Salary: Support Staff Pay Scale F: £10,083 to £10,938 pro-rata per annum (Actual) (£27,711 - £30,060 full time/full year equivalent)

Part Time: 15 hours per week / 2 days

Working Weeks: Term Time + 2 weeks (40 weeks)

We are seeking to appoint a Careers Advisor to provide high quality, impartial careers advice for all pupils; to prepare them effectively for further education, employment or training. The successful candidate will have experience of working with young people or working in an advisory capacity.

This role will be based at Cromer Academy on the North Norfolk coast.

The main responsibility of this role will be:

• To provide high quality, independent careers advice for all pupils to prepare them effectively for education, employment or training and to work with the Central Strategic Careers Lead to implement a strategy for developing a careers programme for the school that meets all eight of the Gatsby benchmarks.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Level 4 Diploma in Advice and Guidance or equivalent and ideally a Level 6 qualification
• Experience of working with young people or working in an advisory position
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to deal effectively with people, using tact, courtesy and patience
• Good IT skills
• Good organisational and time management skills
