Cargo Inspector

Due to ongoing growth, we’re excited to offer an opportunity to join our trusted inspection team in Milford Haven. This hands-on role places you at the core of UK cargo terminals, vessels, and storage facilities.

About You

You’re proactive, reliable, and ready for a dynamic, field-based role. Comfortable with physical tasks and confident working around vessels, you follow procedures carefully and accurately. You will independently assess the quantity and quality of Crude Oil, Petroleum Products, Petrochemicals, and Petroleum Gases through sampling and measurements, ensuring precise reporting.

• Comfortable with shift work and unpredictable hours
• Physically fit, including ladder climbing and working onboard ships
• Confident communicator and team player
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Organised, detail-oriented, and numerate
• Computer literate

About The Opportunity

As an Inspector at Intertek, you will conduct volume and temperature measurements, sampling, calculations, and reporting to provide customers with an independent and accurate assessment of material quantities and quality during transportation.

Key Activities

• Follow agreed procedures and inspection management systems
• Boarding Vessels
• Physical measurements and sampling following API, IP, company or other procedures.
• Attend commodity movements such as loading, unloading, and lightering
• Coordinate with terminal, transport, and company personnel for smooth operations
• Monitor and report supply needs to the Operations Manager
• Organise work to ensure timely delivery of services, reports, and samples
• Verify, record, and communicate inspection results accurately for traceability
