Position Summary
In this role, you will be part of a fast-paced and highly driven team that defines, guides, and implements the eCommerce strategy for Energizer Holdings across key markets and customers in Europe. You will lead a team of three Amazon Business Account Managers, empowering them to drive profitable business growth.
The Channel Director, Amazon Modern Markets leads customer strategy, activation, and delivers business results across all three of Energizer Holdings’ categories: Batteries, Automotive, and Portable Lights. This role currently spans six markets with aspirations to expand into additional markets to drive incremental growth.
Responsibilities
Universal Accountabilities
- Set and achieve sales, financial planning, and customer contribution targets.
- Develop and execute annual business plans to efficiently achieve both customer and Energizer goals/objectives.
- Monitor industry and competitor developments, recommending and leading adjustments to the business plan and tactics to respond proactively.
- Manage overall P&L for the scope of responsibility and deliver financial targets.
- Maintain consistent communication with internal (Energizer) and external (customer) stakeholders.
- Talent Management: Motivate, develop, and align team capabilities with business needs. Identify and develop successors for key roles, set annual goals, manage performance, and demonstrate leadership, collaboration, and change management.
Specific Accountabilities
- Customer Development: Within Amazon EU, develop and implement strategies for transformational growth while maintaining the base business.
- Trade Channel Management: Tailor business and brand planning processes to meet customer-specific needs.
- Customer Relationships: Build multi-level, multi-functional relationships with major customers to elevate the Energizer brand and presence.
- Annual Vendor Negotiations: Oversee negotiations with Amazon EU across all three business categories.
- Promotions: Plan, negotiate, and execute promotions to support performance. Evaluate outcomes and integrate lessons learned into future plans.
- Trade Terms and Pricing: Lead the commercial strategy for pricing, discounts, and trade terms aligned with global guidance. Manage trade allowances and deflators, including approvals.
- Forecasting: Project gross profit and loss (volumes, revenues, margins) and develop accurate sales forecasts in alignment with Demand Management and Brand teams.
- Business Plan Management: Oversee annual business plan execution, monthly reporting, and recommendations to achieve sales and GM targets.
- Foster strong relationships with senior customer leadership and cross-functional internal teams (e.g., supply chain, operations, shopper activation) to build long-term partnerships and promote sales growth.
- Collaborate with the Energizer Customer Supply Chain and Customer Planning teams to drive initiatives, ensure forecast accuracy, and hold regular status meetings.
What We Are Looking For
Required Skills and Experience
- University degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant business experience in sales, marketing, or a related area.
- Proven ability to develop and implement business/account plans.
- Experience managing large multi-market customers (e.g., Amazon, Tesco).
- Strong team leadership and talent management experience.
- Demonstrated success leading, influencing, and driving change within a complex, matrix organization.
- Solid understanding of Category Management dynamics.
- P&L Management experience.
- High level of emotional intelligence.
Technical Skills
- Strong negotiation skills (internal and external).
- Ability to combine commercial delivery with a strategic mindset.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with comfort in engaging senior leadership.
- Proficiency in performance reporting, budgeting processes, and trade budget management.
- In-depth understanding of market research methods and data analysis.
- Proficient use of MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint), Nielsen, and/or IRI.
- Ability to forecast volumes and understand P&L implications.

- Collaborates with stakeholders such as: Business Insights, Digital Media, Digital Content, Customer Supply Chain, Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Commercial Finance, Trade Development, and Commercial and Digital Leadership.
- Part of the Global Digital eCommerce Team.
Location: The position can be remote but is not required to be.
