Description
Are you a Registered Nurse interested in supporting children, young people and their families who are experiencing mental health difficulties? Would you like to further your career with Children and Young People?

The Single Point of Access serves as the "front door" to Buckinghamshire CAMHS. We are a team of nurturing, experienced clinicians and support staff who are passionate about providing equitable access to mental health care, early intervention in children's mental health and ongoing staff development.

Within Children & Adolescent Mental Health Services in Buckinghamshire we are looking for motivated qualified nurses who are looking to work in a great team alongside nurses, occupational therapists and social workers, all of whom are dedicated to improving services for young people. You may be a band 6 ready for the next step in their career, or an experienced band 7 nurse who wants to gain exposure in a new area. Either way, we have a career path ready for you.

The team works to screen and triage new referrals into Buckinghamshire CAMHS, and make decisions for the ongoing care of these children. We also provide advice, guidance and consultation to young people and their families, healthcare professionals and schools.

This role carries an incentive premium of £3,500 which will be paid in instalments over an 18-month period. Please note that this scheme is not open to existing employees of Oxford Health and is subject to a claw back clause. Further information will be provided.

  • You will screen and triage referrals and other contacts into SPA, and provide expert advice and guidance, onward referrals and signposting.
  • You will also act as shift lead, coordinating SPA staff on a shift to ensure that risk is managed, and cases are triaged effectively. You will gain valuable skills in clinical leadership.
  • You will also have the chance to be involved in the delivery of accredited training to external professionals in schools and from the local authority, by attending a 3 day train-the-trainer programme delivered by the University of Reading.
  • You will receive individualised support as a clinician and professional to enable you to grow as a valued member of our team. All staff receive management, clinical (where appropriate) and safeguarding supervision as standard. Within SPA, we also have regular reflective practice and opportunities to share learning.

The ability to travel independently between sites within the Trust is essential for this role. Please note the role is based in the Sue Nichols Centre in Aylesbury, with some scope for home working as service needs allow.
