Civil Structural Engineer

Within the UK and Ireland our engineers and consultants are involved in some of the most innovative energy projects providing design, intellectual, and engineering services to developers, investors, owners, and operators. Projects in development, construction, or operation in the UK and Ireland, include more than:

• 60 major thermal power plants, across the waste, biomass, and conventional power sectors
• 10 GWh of battery storage
• 5 GW of solar
• 7 GW of on-shore and off-shore wind
• 5 GW of pumped storage hydro projects
• 20 carbon capture projects, aiming to capture and permanently sequestrate more than 5 million tonnes of CO2 per annum

We have over 175 employees that we are proud to have represent us, operating from our offices in Manchester, Belfast, Dublin and Glasgow. As the business grows from strength to strength, we are now looking to further extend our team by recruiting an experienced civil engineer to join our team, to work on critical infrastructure projects across the UK and Ireland. This position will be based at our central Glasgow location, with some travel.

We are looking for:

• a good degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering
• a highly motivated and enthusiastic professional engineer wanting a challenging career in the development and construction of major projects;
• recent project management experience gained with the development and/or construction of heavy civils projects;
• experience with UK, European and international engineering standards and standard forms of contract;
• experience with the design and construction of hydro power plant, dams, and/or buried structures such as caverns, tunnels, shafts or other hydraulic structures would be an advantage;
• able to chair project meetings, produce reports and technical models/drawings and liaise effectively with our clients;
• ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team;
• professional chartered membership of an applicable industry body;
• fully conversant with Microsoft Office;
• full right to work in the UK;
• knowledge of UK Health and Safety Regulations; and
• a full driving licence for travel to sites/meetings.
