As Claims Adjuster, DWF, you will have responsibility for managing a portfolio of Casualty reinsurance claims for the UK. You will work closely with your manager and other members of the team ensuring a high level of quality and integrity of claim handling. You will interact and collaborate with internal customers (underwriters, actuaries, finance, etc.) as well as building and developing constructive working relationships with external clients (brokers and cedents). You will operate in a highly collaborative team environment to achieve shared corporate strategies and objectives.
This role is offering Remote work with some travel to the office may be required on occasions.
Responsibilities
- Day-to-day handling of a portfolio of International & UK Casualty claims, across both London Market and Lloyd’s platforms, including coverage analysis, investigation, evaluation, reserving and settlement, in accordance with Global Claims Handling guidelines, service standards and regulations.
- Ensure reserving philosophy is adhered to and reserves booked are in compliance with company protocols.
- Collaborate with Underwriting and Actuarial teams in connection with claim issues, trends, review of reinsurance contract language and service standards.
- Build and maintain relationships with brokers and market peers.
- Monitor trends and developments in Casualty claims and keep underwriters and actuaries up to date.
- Keep up to date with legal developments, i.e. relevant case law; new and developing precedents; changes in legislation that impacts the portfolios.
- Collaborate with members of the Global claims team on common claims and internal processes to ensure consistency.
What will help you succeed in this role?
Essential
- Previous Claims experience within the Reinsurance industry.
- Knowledge of both International & UK Casualty claims is preferred.
- Familiar with Write-Back / ECF2 and DOCOsoft.
- Excellent analytical skills, problem-solving and sound judgments, including review of data and other types of business information, trends and drawing supported conclusion based on the data
- Ability to operate in a collaborative environment, yet independently manage a portfolio of claims.
Desirable
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and efficiently manage concurrent responsibilities.
- Proficient with all Microsoft products particularly Excel. Knowledge of basic formulas and pivot tables with ability to manipulate and summarise data
