About The Role
Mott MacDonald is committed to improving people’s lives through delivering sustainable infrastructure solutions, and are looking for like-minded, forward-thinking individuals to join our growing Climate and Sustainability Team for the European Region.
You will be part of our team working to deliver climate resilient solutions to a range of customers in the private and public sector. Recent clients have included East West Rail, Heathrow Airport, Association of British Ports, Department for Transport, and UK Water Companies.
You will have responsibility for delivery of qualitative and quantitative climate change risk assessments, including sourcing, interpreting and applying climate data for the assessment and prioritisation of climate risks and adaptation measures for infrastructure projects.
This is a mid-level appointment with long-term career potential, working in a rapidly growing area.
Candidate Specification
Essential
You will have the following skills:
- A excellent understanding of climate science and proven experience of obtaining, interpreting and applying UK climate projection data to infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrable experience of undertaking qualitative and quantitative physical climate change risk assessments.
- Advanced numerical skills, proficiency in MS Excel and/or statistical packages and experience of managing large datasets.
- Use of climate data within digital tools such as GIS, coding and/or digital tool development.
- A good communicator with the ability to convey messages about climate data in an accessible manner.
- Strong collaboration skills, with a willingness and enthusiasm to build good working relationships across the business.
Desirable
- Master’s level education in Climate Change, Engineering or Environmental Sciences or equivalent experience.
- Experience in using climate data in climate change risk identification.
- Use of global climate data and experience in carrying out international climate change risk assessments.
