An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Haematology nurse to join and support the Haematology Practice Educator based on the Bud Flanagan Unit. The post holder will help facilitate education and training, working across the Bud Flanagan Unit. The Bud Flanagan Unit is the main Haemato-oncology and Stem Cell Transplant wards caring for patients undergoing high dose chemotherapy treatment, stem cell transplantation and other cellular therapy products including clinical trials which requires all nursing and HCSWs to have a high level of clinical expertise.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and experienced, who enjoys education and working with nurses to increase their knowledge to ensure a high quality service. You must be able to demonstrate good communication skills, reliability and have an organised approach.
- To provide clinical support to the Haematology Practice Educator and wider nursing team that is motivating and supportive resulting in high quality and evidence-based patient care.
- To assist in, facilitate and ensure clinical staff are equipped with the core nursing skills to be able to facilitate different treatment modalities including IV, Blood Transfusion, V&C, SACT, Transplant, Cellular Therapy and Clinical Trials.
- To assist in supporting JACIE accreditation objectives for staff.
- To support student nurses and NQNs in the clinical environment.
- The post holder will support internal study days, work collaboratively with Practice Educators, Ward Managers, participate and support clinical audits and quality improvement projects or unit initiatives to ensure the continuous improvement of the quality of services and maintaining high standards of care.
