Description
At CMR Surgical, we're revolutionising the future of minimal access surgery with Versius, our next-generation surgical robotic system. We're growing fast, and we’re on a mission to transform how surgery is delivered globally—for the benefit of patients, clinicians, and healthcare systems.

Our values—Ambitious, Humble, People-Focused, and Fair & Responsible—define our approach to innovation, partnership, and growth. If you believe in making a meaningful difference in healthcare and want to be part of a purpose-driven company with bold ambitions, now is the time to join us.

As Clinical Sales Specialist, you’ll play a key role in the growth of the Versius robotic programmes across the NHS and private sector, with a specific focus on procedures growth and new product launch and adoption.

This is a field-based role where you’ll own the entire implementation cycle—from pre-contracting stakeholder engagement for the duration of the partnership— operating in close collaboration with cross-functional colleagues and NHS clinical, operational and management teams.

About CMR Surgical

CMR is an exciting and evolving company to be joining right now. Our commitment to our goal of building a world-class medical devices company is underpinned by the ground-breaking innovation of our next generation of surgical robots and a diverse team of talented and supportive individuals.

We’re breaking new ground which makes working here exciting, it provides autonomy, opportunity and makes the things you do visible. Come and join us and see what you’re capable of.

Responsibilities

  • Clinical Sales ownership: lead the clinical growth of the robotic programme, from successful new installation implementation, to ongoing sales of new technology and upgrades for the duration of the partnership.
  • Implementation planning and coordination responsibility: coordinate and influence internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful completion of all project phases, on time and within budget, while delivering an industry-leading customer experience.
  • Overseeing of the robotic programme clinical growth stage: undertake case support and troubleshooting in the Operating Room for surgical teams who are trained to use Versius. Act as the first point of customer contact and liaison with other areas of the business and CMR and unit leadership.
  • Ensure feedback is recorded and tracked to aid post-market surveillance and product improvement in each account. Promptly implement corrective actions, as and when required, to guarantee delivery against contracted Service Level Agreements and maximize Versius uptime and increase in utilisation.
  • Monitor the ongoing success of the robotic programme through carrying out regular internal business reviews, and Versius Service Delivery Reviews in your accounts, involving the appropriate CMR stakeholders when required, sharing these with the relevant stakeholders, and promptly suggesting and implementing corrective and preventative actions.
  • Support the uptake of the digital ecosystem in your accounts.
  • Deliver the training modules as per agreed plans, guiding new surgical teams through their initial learning curve with Versius, developing and executing on expansion plans, while transmitting feedback to the Professional Education Lead.
  • Support the sales and management team with internal planning and forecasting processes, as and when required, producing and contributing to Versius system utilization reports.
  • Events & Networking: participate in educational, marketing and sales related activities and events when needed, and support the capital sales team during the pre-implementation projects as required. Take initiative and lead on account related events in collaboration with the hospital.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: work with internal teams (marketing, clinical, finance, legal, etc.) to deliver clinical growth related proposals in collaboration with finance and procurement NHS teams, aligning with the compliance pathways.
  • CRM & Sales Tools: Use Salesforce and other commercial tools to record account plans, track activity and progress, drive engagement, and ensure visibility across internal stakeholders.
  • Customer Experience: Deliver a premium, partnership-driven experience for NHS customers throughout the programme.

We’re a rapidly developing company and roles can change and evolve. You’ll be willing to turn your hand to anything within the Commercial remit that supports the team with delivering its objectives.
