Job Overview
The Digital Services team at North Bristol Trust is advancing the digital agenda with several key projects, including the implementation of an electronic patient record system and the transition to paper-light processes.
As we undergo these transformations, we are seeking a dedicated team of clinical systems administrators to provide support and maintenance for both existing and new clinical systems.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping, supporting, and maintaining NBT’s Clinical Systems and to contribute to the success of North Bristol NHS Trust.
Main duties of the job
- Perform various Back Office support and maintenance tasks, including clinic setup, letter management, and reference data management.
- Support the development of clinical information systems and the Trust's Electronic Patient Record (EPR).
- Conduct database administration and take ownership of EPR-related issues.
- Participate in 3rd and 4th line support functions and collaborate with 3rd party suppliers for timely issue resolution.
- Adhere to Trust policies and procedures, including change control mechanisms.
- Assist in Data Quality audits and maintain system data quality and integrity.
- Provide user support and advice on Back Office systems management.
- Assist the Registration Authority with user account maintenance and deletion.
- Support the Testing Team and manage the IM&T Service Desk ticket function.
- Produce documentation for Back Office processes and participate in system testing and implementation.
- Maintain records of system changes and attend training sessions to improve skills.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
We are excited to offer an opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Clinical Systems Team within the IM&T Division.
Knowledge:
- Degree or equivalent experience in a technical subject.
- Extensive knowledge of application tools, Trust's EPR system, IT systems, and NHS Data Protection policies.
- Understanding of directorates' operations within North Bristol Trust.
- Ability to transfer skills and knowledge to colleagues.
- Practical solutions for end users using specialist knowledge.
- Knowledge of current practices, testing principles, and system applications.
- Detailed knowledge of Change Control mechanisms and national patient databases.
- Basic knowledge of Registration Authority processes.
Training:
- Willingness to undertake further computer/application training.
- Commitment to multidisciplinary development within the Clinical Systems Team.
Experience:
- Solving complex system issues and working with third-party suppliers.
- Collaboration with IM&T Directorate for problem-solving.
- Documenting procedures and training end users.
- Customer-focused experience and arranging meetings to resolve issues.
- Gathering non-technical requirements and identifying technical solutions.
