Overview:
I am currently recruiting for an experienced Commercial Finance Analyst to join a Global Retail client of mine in London. This role is central to supporting commercial and operational decision-making through insightful analysis and reporting. You'll play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, performance reporting, and partnering across functions to drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare performance reports and presentations for both internal stakeholders and external partners, including weekly/monthly business updates and quarterly airport presentations.
- Develop comprehensive platform-level P&L forecasts and budget presentations, covering sales, margins, and store costs.
- Collaborate closely with Commercial and Operations teams to evaluate commercial initiatives through pricing and promotional analysis, financial modelling, and strategic recommendations.
- Conduct deep-dive analysis into commercial performance metrics (sales, margins, stock, mix effects, KPIs) to uncover trends and opportunities.
- Manage month-end responsibilities, including accrual preparation and variance analysis, to support accurate financial reporting and budget holder insights.
- Submit monthly financials to the Group and contribute to cost control initiatives.
- Forecast cashflow requirements and monitor working capital needs.
- Take ownership of monthly rent calculations and data preparation for audited rent certificates.
- Support ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requests.
- Assist with evaluating new business development opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; part-qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent).
- 5 years of experience in FP&A or analytical roles, ideally within the retail sector. Experience in food & beverage is a plus.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, including use of Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and SUMIF.
- Comfortable working with large datasets to identify trends and business insights.
- Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., SAP Business Warehouse, BI4, SAP Analysis for Office) is desirable.

- Effective time management and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with the confidence to present to stakeholders at all levels.
