Locations: London, Bristol

The ESMCP London Office, Clive House will relocate to Stratford from June 2025


Salary

£44,720 - £52,130

National pay location: £44,720 - £47,850

London pay location: £48,720 - £52,130


A Civil Service Pension with an employer contribution of 28.97%.


As a Commercial Manager you will oversee and deliver a range of contract management activities, supporting on high value change variations and the management of in-life contracts, reporting on the status of contracts, managing the governance / change process, reporting risks, and taking ownership of invoice processing and billing. As such, the post holder will need to demonstrate an ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with colleagues and managers across all levels of the organisation.

  • Contributes to the wider goals of the ESMCP Programme and the Home Office as a department.


  • Show commitment to personal development – undertake learning and development opportunities, seek appropriate support, guidance and coaching from the team and other connected stakeholders.


  • Manage and support the Commercial team as required and develop the team’s role in supporting the Commercial Director’s office.


  • Strong people skills, and the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and suppliers at every level within the organisation.


  • Support the broader Home Office commercial team with delivery of corporate objectives.


Essential Criteria:


  • Experience in a procurement, commercial or buying role, or of managing suppliers and contracts.


  • Understanding of the full commercial lifecycle.


  • Excellent people skills to manage challenging priorities and deadlines.


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.


  • Evidence of working flexibly across teams and working with a wide range of stakeholders to support competing priorities and demonstrating adaptability.


  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the terms and conditions of contracts and work with the market/supplier to ensure these will be/are achieved.


Qualifications:


Hold Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) (L4 minimum) or be willing to achieve this qualification once in post.
