Description

gunnercooke LLP is a Top 80 law firm with recognition across 28 disciplines and over 50 individually ranked lawyers. Having launched in 2010, the firm has grown to over 450 solicitors, including 360+ Partners.

With a national and international presence, the firm has offices throughout the UK, Scotland, Germany, and the US. Our purpose is simple; to deliver a positive impact for our clients, provide a better life for our people and to leave a better world than we found.

The firm’s innovative ‘revenue share’ model has helped to reshape the way that the law is practiced in the UK. Each Partner runs his or her own practice within the firm. This quasi-autonomous structure provides Partners with the freedom to work only with the clients they truly want to work with, charging fees that are commercially viable for both the Partner and the client.

One of our Real Estate Partners is seeking the addition of a 6+ years PQE Senior Associate to join their high calibre, growing team in Yorkshire.

Flexible Working Arrangement: 3-5 Days per Week, Hybrid Role

We are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Real Estate Senior Associate to join our fast-growing team in Yorkshire, working closely with our Partner. This role is ideal for individuals seeking a flexible working arrangement, dividing time between remote working and our office in North Leeds.

As a Real Estate Senior Associate, you will support the Partner in their practice and deliver exceptional service to clients. The successful candidate will ideally bring diverse experience in transactional work, including expertise in landlord and tenant matters - with additional experience in development and/or real estate finance being advantageous.

This role presents an opportunity to represent a range of clients across the retail and hospitality sectors, including one of the largest hospitality operators in the South, as well as property developers and investors. The work within the team is dynamic and encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including, but not limited to:

  • Dealing with acquisitions, disposals, and ongoing management of commercial leasehold properties, including drafting and negotiating leases, agreements for leases and ancillary leasehold documentation.
  • Dealing with acquisitions and disposals of freehold properties, including dealing with conditional agreements, overage agreements and option agreements.
  • Dealing with property investment transactions, including portfolio acquisitions and disposals.
  • Dealing with property due diligence on real estate finance transactions
  • Dealing with property elements of business sales and purchases

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of real estate law and a desire to expand their expertise within a well-regarded real estate team in Yorkshire.

Essential Experience:

  • Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 6 years post-qualification experience (PQE).
  • Significant experience in commercial real estate matters.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage client expectations and deliver high-quality work under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • A collaborative approach, with a willingness to work closely with team members.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • A strong work ethic and commitment to delivering excellent service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a diverse caseload of real estate matters.
  • Ensure proactive and efficient management of each case from inception to completion.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with new and existing clients, as well as associated professionals, building trust, confidence and reliability.

·       Act as a brand ambassador, enhancing the market reputation of the business.

  • Exhibit strong communication skills, proactive problem-solving, and creative thinking.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for a Senior Associate looking to springboard their career and join a progressive and flexible environment working alongside like-minded lawyers.

Working Arrangement:

This position is ideal for candidates seeking a part-time role, working 3-4 days per week (though a full time position is available). You will have the flexibility to work remotely, with the expectation of dividing your time between remote working and our Yorkshire office.

We offer a competitive salary, flexible working arrangements, and a standard pension contribution.
