In this role, the Commissioning Manager plays a strategic and operational leadership role in the successful delivery of Armstrong’s site-based installations and commissioning activities. Responsible for managing the complete commissioning lifecycle—from planning through execution to customer handover—you will lead the commissioning team, including the Commissioning Supervisor, site engineers, and subcontractors. You will also act as a key client interface, ensuring seamless project execution, technical compliance, and excellence in delivery.

What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should bring:
· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
· A valid driving license is essential.
· Substantial experience in a Commissioning Manager or Senior Commissioning Engineer role within HVAC, MEP, or packaged plant systems.
· Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems within a data centre or similar critical infrastructure context.
· Demonstrated experience leading site-based commissioning teams, including contractors and internal staff.
· Effective planning, scheduling, and resource management experience.
· Ability to interpret and develop technical documentation such as P&IDs, wiring diagrams, method statements, and commissioning protocols.
· Strong customer engagement and communication skills.
· Willingness and ability to travel across the UK and Europe as required - approximately 15% travel requirement.
· In depth experience with data centre project commissioning processes, customer compliance expectations, and sign-off protocols.
· Substantial proven experience with digital commissioning tools, asset tracking systems, or BMS platforms.
