Communications Executive, Media Relations
Angel Court, London EC2R 7HG – hybrid, office 2 -3 days per week

Salary £36K - £45K Depending On Experience

You’ll play an active part in promoting and protecting Bupa’s reputation through both proactive and reactive communications.
Enthusiastic, energetic and curious, you’ll work with business line teams and colleagues across the media relations team to deliver business support, proactive consumer and creative media campaigns.
You’ll work with senior leaders to execute media activity that creates a joined-up integrated channel engagement across paid, earned and owned channels to enhance our reputation.
You’ll work closely with BU teams, prepare briefing notes and provide research and evaluation, to build our Bupa story in the UK as a leading healthcare provider.
You’ll think creatively and juggle priorities.
With regular exposure to the Bupa executive and leadership teams in the UK, you’ll be capable of working with leaders at a senior level and representing external relations and corporate affairs confidently.
How You’ll Help Us Make Health Happen
- You’ll have keen interest in the external landscape to identify opportunities for effective proactive media campaigns, which reflect business priorities and enhance our reputation and brand in the UK as a market leader.
- Deliver aspects of campaigns to a high quality and standard, on time and within budgets, aligned to Bupa’s strategic objectives.
- Demonstrate an integrated campaign mindset, effectively distributing campaigns across channels to drive the greatest reach and return on investment.
- Handle reactive media enquiries in traditional and social media in a timely and effective manner.
- Plan and deliver responsibilities independently and work with agency teams.
- Build and maintain relationships with all levels of management within Bupa and the wider Corporate Affairs function.
- Handle media enquiries from national, regional and specialist media in a timely and effective manner,
- Produce and align high quality written materials, including written statements, Q&As, briefings, press releases
- Participate in the rota for the Duty Press Officer to cover out of hours media calls and to prepare a daily media briefing
- Build relationships with key media on behalf of Bupa
- Support the team in delivering Bupa digital corporate communications activity, including helping to develop integrated communications campaigns across digital channels such as: Bupa.co.uk, Twitter and LinkedIn and online social/digital media
You
- Impressive experience of planning and delivering effective corporate and consumer PR campaigns either in-house or, ideally within agency
- Ability to deliver responsibilities for key projects with excellent organisational skills
- Talent to create high quality written material and translation of content for use across multiple channels, including traditional PR materials, blogs, communities, intranets etc.
- Comfortable working to tight deadlines.
- Experience in participating in a reactive press office for major corporate brands, including handling national, regional and specialist media enquiries.
- Experience of working with media contacts across national outlets
- Analytical skills to identify a range of solutions
- Demonstrable interest and expertise in digital and social media communications and campaign activity.
- Highly creative and energetic with a flexible approach, being an effective and reliable team player
- Meticulous attention to detail with strong project and time management skills
