Are you a well organised Compliance Administrator? Do you have experience of defect tracking and compliance recording gained with a facilities management or engineering environment? Are you passionate about health, safety and compliance?

We are currently looking for a Compliance Administrator to join our Engineering team. This key role ensures that all our electrical and mechanical equipment across our UK sites meets legal and regulatory requirements. There may be an opportunity to visit site occasionally if you wish but this is predominantly an office based role so you can either work from home or at one of our offices across the UK including Birmingham, London, Bristol, Loughborough, Leicester, Salford, Chester-le-Street and other locations.

Main Responsibilities

Reporting directly to Company Electrical Engineering Manager the Compliance Administrator will be responsible for managing and coordinating the statutory inspection process across multiple UK sites. This role ensures that all equipment and facilities meet legal and regulatory requirements through periodic inspections, with a key focus on High Voltage equipment and switchgear, Low Voltage Fixed Electrical Wiring, PAT, lifting equipment, structural inspections, and pressure systems.

Responsibilities for this role of Compliance Administrator will include:

  • Manage and coordinate statutory inspections to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards
  • Focus on High Voltage and Low Voltage electrical systems, lifting equipment, structural inspections, pressure systems, and workplace safety requirements
  • Liaise with site operational staff across the UK to schedule statutory inspections
  • Track, document, and report identified defects, ensuring corrective actions are completed and recorded accordingly
  • Manage the compliance and onboarding documentation of High and Low voltage electrical contractors
  • Maintain up-to-date registers for contractor compliance and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements
  • Communicate company standard and specification changes to contractors when published
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inspections, defect logs, and completed corrective actions
  • Ensure timely updates and reporting on compliance status across all UK sites and communicate monthly with higher management

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for the role of Compliance Administrator will have proven experience gained within an administrative role in a compliance, facilities management, or engineering environment. You will have strong communication and organisational skills, knowledge of compliance records and the ability to oversee defect tracking.

Suitable candidates for the role of Compliance Administrator will also have:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively coordinate with contractors, site teams, and key stakeholders
  • Proven ability to manage schedules, track compliance and liaise effectively with operational and engineering teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, email and general IT systems
  • Ability to manage databases and compliance records efficiently
  • Confidence to work independently, effectively prioritise tasks and successfully manage multiple tasks
  • Familiarity with statutory inspections and regulatory requirements related to electrical systems and workplace safety (advantageous)
  • Experience managing contractors and compliance records (advantageous)
