What you'll do

Based in London or Cardiff, this is an exciting and challenging position for a highly motivated, customer focused and confident individual who is looking to progress their career.


The Compliance Monitoring Assistant will lead a programme of Monitoring activity in order to produce accurate, complete and insightful Monitoring reports.


You will play a key role in the delivery of the Compliance Monitoring Plan and therefore should be highly organised, able to deal with competing priorities and have a keen eye for detail.


You should have a good knowledge and experience of Consumer Credit Act and have experience of working with the FCA Handbook, particularly Consumer Credit Rules (CONC), Complaints Rules (DISP) and the over-arching Consumer Duty regulations.


You should also have good communication skills together with a good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and an analytical mindset.


Key responsibilities:

  • Undertake Compliance monitoring reviews in accordance with the annual Compliance Monitoring Plan, primarily across the customer journey.
  • Delivery of high quality Monitoring reports, suggesting remedial action where required and tracking issues to closure.
  • Provide ongoing feedback of development points identified through Monitoring activity to business functions to drive a positive compliance ‘no surprise’ culture whilst adhering to regulatory and company guidelines.
  • Track all raised findings and recommendations made to the business, ensuring actions are closed in a timely manner and that those actions are adequate to address the finding.
  • Undertake any other reasonable tasks as requested by management.


Who you are and what you’ll need:

Our ideal candidate will be an existing compliance professional with the following knowledge, capability and experience:

  • Strong communication skills both oral and written and be able to deliver confidently to all levels of the business.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders to take ownership of issues.
  • Experience of carrying out internal monitoring.
  • An ability to produce comprehensive reports and work with the Business to recommend pragmatic recommendations.
  • Experience in a Consumer Credit Compliance environment and good knowledge and awareness of FCA CONC and DISP regulations and Consumer Duty.
  • Excellent work ethic with a real passion to drive improvement.
  • Calm manner and sensible approach are required, as you may have to deal with difficult situations in highlighting any business issues.
  • Proactive, able to work on your own initiative and organised to juggle competing demands to effectively managing your own workload.
  • Ability to keep up-to-date with industry developments in Consumer Credit and other relevant regulations.
