You will be joining a dynamic and market leading, client facing team helping our clients to meet their UK VAT Compliance obligations in a fast paced environment. We deliver to tight and regular deadlines and support our clients through the changing requirements brought in through Making Tax Digital.

You will be the primary client contact for a number of your portfolio clients, working alongside and supporting the rest of UK VAT Compliance team.

Our highly experienced and friendly team includes a diverse mix of more than 20 dedicated and professional people located across both the UK and India. We deliver UK VAT Compliance services to over 350 clients across a range of industries and size of organisations and are rapidly expanding.

As our business has continued to expand, we have invested heavily in our market offering and technology in order to strengthen our position as the service provider of choice. We continue to generate opportunities for talented and enthusiastic individuals to join our national UK VAT Compliance team and help make it the undisputed market leader.

This new role primarily involves the senior review of UK VAT returns and management of compliance engagements operated by the team using our own market-leading technology, to ensure that they are compliant with the requirements under UK law. You will form part of this team, working together and with our clients throughout the process, to provide an outstanding quality of service.

Reporting to the UK Indirect Tax Complianceleadership,, and responsible for your client service delivery, the role will be ideal for someone who is well organised, motivated and efficient and committed to excellent client service and relationships.

The role encompasses:

• A client facing role managing a range of UK VAT compliance engagements, including undertaking review of UK VAT returns / reporting, and building strong and long-term client relationships
• Actively participating in the team’s market growth ambitions, taking a core role on new business opportunities and initiatives
• Constantly looking for ways to improve the way we deliver our services and the value we bring to our clients
• Managing client deadlines and ensuring all returns are submitted on time
• Responding to HMRC queries/gathering supporting info for repayments
• Ad hoc Advisory support
• Building links into the wider firm, and opening up broader opportunities to support our clients

• Highly organised, good at working to deadlines within dynamic teams and in a fast paced environment
• Great client service and client relationship skills
• ATT, CTA or a similar accounting or Tax based qualification
• Good general VAT knowledge; additional training will be given through Deloitte's internal training programmes
• Good Excel skills
• Experience working with highly automated VAT/Tax compliance technology applications an advantage

Our comprehensive range of services encompasses everything from the completion of tax returns (corporation tax self-assessment) to complex consultancy assignments and strategic tax planning. We advise on corporate and general tax, international M&A, stamp tax, cross-border transfer pricing, reorganisations and reconstructions, and competent authority negotiations.

Personal independence

Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships). This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm, and also prohibitions on certain employment relationships (e.g., you are not permitted to hold a secondary employment role with SEC audit clients of the firm whilst being employed by the firm).
