We are looking for a dedicated and versatile individual to join our team as a Contract Manager.
Purpose of the Job:
- As Contract Manager you will have responsibility for certain c2c Contract Management activity, working with c2c departments to ensure that they follow best practice and deliver best value for the business
- You will work closely with business owners, key stakeholders, and the finance and procurement teams
- You will be an integral part of our Supply Chain team where you will hold key responsibilities associated with the delivery and success of contracts, as well as the delivery of wider strategic objectives
- Responsible for managing supplier contracts and relevant systems
- Responsible for tracking all documents and contract changes, and participating in contract negotiation and change negotiations as required
- Monitor KPI’s and, if necessary, work with stakeholders and suppliers to provide performance solutions
- Lead the process of analysing contract issues to identify and eliminate risks and optimize value for the company
- Act as an escalation point within your category
- Work with the Senior Contract Manager to identify process efficiencies
Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications:
- Proven success working as a Contract Manager
- Strong understanding of both public and private sector procurement environments, including the application of public procurement regulations
- Extensive experience of carrying out contract management activity across a broad range of goods, works and services
- Knowledge of a wide range of contract conditions (standard commercial contracts, consultancy agreements, NDA’s, etc)
- Experience of guiding non contract management practitioners through the contract management process to deliver both business needs and positive commercial outcomes.
- Experience of advising non contract management practitioners on contractual matters during contract life.
- Strong track record of delivering measurable value through contract management activity
- Strong IT skills including Word, Excel including complex formulas.
- An understanding of VBA and PowerBI (desirable)
- Strong negotiation skills
- Strong commercial awareness
- Good analytical, financial and numeracy skills
- Sound knowledge of contracts and the legal framework
- Good team player and communicator
- Ability to work on own initiative and meet deadlines
- Experience of working within a TOC or Rail environment (desirable)
