Role Overview
Dalkia Energy Solutions (DES) operates within the energy performance contracting market, providing long term (5 to 25 year) propositions based on guaranteed energy, carbon and maintenance savings. These include energy performance and maintenance contracts across the entire DES portfolio including Dalkia Low Carbon Solutions (DKLCS), DES M&V and The Barkantine Heat and Power Company (BHPC) district heating scheme. The role of the Contract Manager is to ensure commercially and practically that the contracts are meeting the financial and operational performance within budget, liaising with both clients and service providers to ensure business objectives.
This role shall report to the Head of Asset Performance.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- The Role of the Contract Manager is responsible and accountable for the whole Client lifecycle to provide maintenance plans with third party providers to assist Head of Asset Performance in medium to long term financial planning.
- This Role is to have the oversight of managing all third-party contractors with the help of the business commercial and procurement teams on behalf of the Asset Performance Team
- To manage and be the expert in all DES’s portfolio of contracts with respect to their understanding, compliance adherence and performance management liaising with the commercial and legal teams within the wider business as required.
- Develop and Implement all Policies and procedures required by the DES Asset Performance Team for all contracts in the DES portfolio.
- Develop effective working relationships between all parties. This includes clients, energy consultants, third party maintenance and small projects work providers.
- Work with the client, energy consultant, internal commercial and legal teams to provide the best reasonable solution available to the business regarding contract dispute resolution.
- To continue to develop an effective supply chain with third party suppliers and manage their involvement through the contract and all client related activities.
- Be an integral part of the Asset Performance Team in group discussions in aspects of strategic growth and what that means when maintaining performance across the existing portfolio as well as what that means with commercial and budget compliance with future growth.
- To be directly responsible for the teams understanding and compliance with existing and future contracts across the entire portfolio including any implications pertaining to contract variations.
- Co-ordinate and manage third party O&M Teams to ensure we meet contractual requirements, whilst ensuring we meet our stated Energy Saving Improvements consistently across the life of the contract.
- Working closely with the Technical Asset Engineer and the Senior M&V Analyst within the Asset Performance Team to assist in all matters contractual ensuring the team comply with all KPI and reporting obligations.
- Assist with the identification and impact of KPI and energy performance issues.
- Responsible for the direct client relationship for monthly and quarterly meetings ensuring all actions are tracked with any left outstanding flagged in team meetings.
- Co-ordinate the teams inward and outward reporting requirements including energy and operational performance. This includes the monthly performance review to the DES Exec Team
- To work with the Asset Performance Team in developing a robust adoption process to ‘onboard’ new sites ensuring all information is available and correct allowing the team to measure and report on energy and carbon reduction measures.
- Work with the performance dashboard Data Management Engineer to suggest improvements relating to our contracted deliverables.
Knowledge, Skills, Education & Experience
- Demonstrable experience of managing across different business units and managing the Contract and other third parties who all have different objectives and goals.
- Demonstrable experience of professional people management and particular Contract Management.
- Enthusiasm and willingness to teach and learn and adapt quickly to growing business needs.
- Demonstrable hospital and PFI contract management experience and skills.
- A Professional approach and manner are paramount when dealing with clients, energy consultants and other third-party providers.
