National Grid is hiring Contract Officers for our Infrastructure Delivery team based in the Midlands.


About The Role


As a Contract Officer you will coordinate the provision of a holistic contract management service, owning the regular interaction with the contractors at a portfolio level, aggregating project issues to challenge contractor performance in all areas of delivery.


This role will support the Contract and Commercial Manager and the Lead Contract Officer with the contractual interface and business improvements and applying insights from in-depth knowledge of Contractor performance at a portfolio level to support commercial decision-making for your allocated Contractors.


What You'll Do


  • Carry out compliance and background audits for your allocated contractors, ensuring records are up to date
  • Organize and co-ordinate Programme Board Meetings or equivalent contractor performance meetings.
  • Production and analysis of commercial reports.
  • Monitor and interpret contractor performance against KPIs


What You'll Need


  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to build strong relationships across multiple teams
  • Experience of working in a Contract Management role
  • Experience of working with NEC terms and conditions (or equivalent)
  • Experience interfacing with multiple business functions
  • Demonstratable experience of leading and challenging whilst having the ability to propose solutions and manage outputs to resolution
  • Strong communication skills, with ability to convey key messages to internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience of leading on continuous improvements.
  • Knowledge or experience of working within a contract / project management function.

Interviews for this role will be held in on the 7th, 10th and 11th July 2025.

We have several opportunities, and the salary ranges from £42,000.00 to £52,000.00 per annum based on experience.
