West Berkshire Council is seeking a Contracts Officer to join our Children & Family Services Directorate. Working within our new Children's Commissioning Service you will play a really important role in helping to ensure to that services commissioned to support our children and young people are of high quality, whilst also delivering maximum value to the local authority. This is a fantastic opportunity that offers a diverse range of contract management, procurement, and administrative duties across both children's social care and SEND.
As Contracts Officer, You Will Be Responsible For
- Supporting the management and administration of contracts, ensuring compliance with agreed terms and conditions
- Monitoring contractor performance and service delivery, conducting regular reviews and providing feedback.
- Assisting with contract negotiations and re-tendering processes.
- Maintaining accurate contract records and databases.
- Providing advice and guidance to service managers on contract-related issues.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders and external providers to ensure successful contract outcomes.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Experience in contract management, ideally within a public sector environment.
- Knowledge of contract law and procurement processes.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple contracts and priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in contract administration.
- Proactive problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address issues.
- Passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people across West Berkshire
