Due to internal progression, we have a fantastic new role available within Arriva Rail London’s Control team! We are on the hunt for a Control Administration Support to join us until the end of December 2025 (with the chance to extend). This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is interested in the Railway Operational/ Control space who is looking for an entry level position with a leading Train Operator!

Responsibilities
- You will be at the forefront of Arriva Rail London’s newly transformed Control team, providing administrative support to the Control Leadership team, ensuring that all business standards and objectives are delivered.
- The development and maintenance of trackers on behalf of the Control team will be a key part of this role, alongside general business administration including, coordination of meetings, rooms and equipment required, development of meeting agendas and providing information packs.
- You will also be responsible for assisting the Control team with coordination and administration tasks relating to people including attendance of internal investigations and supporting managers with documentation surrounding the employee lifecycle including return to works absence/ sickness reports and occupational health referrals.
- The Control Administration Support will also be responsible for taking detailed and accurate minutes in meetings, tracking actions, updating logs whilst supporting with training day preparations to keep the team organised and informed.
- Maintenance of management trackers will be another key part of this role, providing reports, suggesting improvements and collaborating with internal teams and external partners.
- You will also support with rostering, cost management and procurement whilst playing a key role in team communications and exciting ad-hoc projects that keep control operations moving forward.
Qualifications
- This individual need to have had experience working in a high-volume administrative environment, supporting multi-stakeholders and will need to have proven experience in taking meeting minutes whilst being party to confidential information.
- You will need to have working experience of Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and you will need to have strong Numeracy and Literacy skills, ideally with a GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English as well as an Administrative qualification but that isn’t essential.
- The Control Administration Support will ideally have an understanding of attendance management procedures, as well as HR and non-HR related company policies and procedures, but this isn’t essential.
- Strong communication skills are essential, both written and verbal, as well as good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise own workload.
- This individual will ideally be a proactive problem solver, with a customer centric approach.
